In Memory of Priscilla McGreer, JIS Editor

It is with heavy hearts that the Journal of Integrated Studies announces the passing of our former editor, Priscilla McGreer, on August 30, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta. Priscilla was a treasured mentor, colleague, writer, MAIS graduate, and member of the Athabasca University community. She valued her opportunity as editor to guide authors through the publication process with support and compassion. Priscilla’s kindness and generosity greatly impacted those around her.

Priscilla had just begun a Doctor of Education program at Ontario Tech University and was recently an instructor at NorQuest College and The Learning Centre Literacy Association. In her words:

“I believe strongly in social justice … and I believe social justice to be one of the most important modern-day issues, and one that goes to the heart of other contemporary global matters such as ecological devastation, economic inequalities and the political crisis of oppression.”

We are truly heartbroken to lose such a vibrant and engaged young scholar who had such a bright future ahead of her. We honour Priscilla’s legacy and contributions to the Journal of Integrated Studies.
