CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

2026-10-06

We are particularly interested in innovative research, creative projects, and reflective works that demonstrate interdisciplinary and integrated approaches to knowledge. We encourage submissions that bring together perspectives, methods, and insights from different fields, challenge disciplinary boundaries, and offer new ways of understanding complex questions and experiences.

Our areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Adult education
  • Canadian studies
  • Community studies
  • Cultural studies
  • Educational studies
  • Equity studies
  • Global change
  • Historical studies
  • Information studies
  • Literary studies
  • Work, organization, and leadership
  • Writing and New Media

We also welcome independent, emerging, and experimental approaches related to these areas, particularly work that engages with the concept and practice of integrated or interdisciplinary studies.

We invite contributions that connect academic research with creative practice, community knowledge, lived experience, and emerging forms of scholarly expression. We are especially interested in work that crosses conventional boundaries and fosters dialogue among disciplines, communities, and ways of knowing.

Submissions are welcome at any time.

Call for Visual Art

We welcome original visual art and photography for publication both on the cover and within the pages of the journal.

Are you a graduate student who takes photographs, paints, draws, creates digital art, or works in another visual medium? We invite you to consider our journal as a venue for sharing your work with an interdisciplinary academic community.

We are particularly interested in visual works that engage with integrated and interdisciplinary studies and that invite reflection, dialogue, or new ways of seeing across disciplines.

Art Submission Requirements
Please submit:

  • 2–5 JPEG or GIF files of original artwork created within the past three years. For three-dimensional works, you may submit 2–3 different views of each work.
  • A list identifying each work’s title, medium, dimensions, and date of creation.
  • A brief 250–500-word artist statement explaining how your work relates to integrated or interdisciplinary studies.
  • A brief biographical statement.

Digital Image Specifications

Please ensure that digital images meet the following requirements:

  • 72 dpi
  • At least 600 pixels on the longest side
  • File names should follow this format: 01_title_(yyyy)
  • If the title is too long, please use two key words from the title in the file name.

Who Can Submit?

Graduate students from any university are welcome to submit. If your work engages with our interdisciplinary and integrated studies focus, we encourage you to consider the journal as a venue for publication.

We welcome work from emerging artists and scholars working across disciplines and in a range of media. Your visual work does not need to fit within a single academic or artistic category. It should offer an opportunity to connect ideas, perspectives, and ways of knowing.
